Lill: Hey, what are you reading?

Jill: Betty and Veronica.

Lill: *Raises eyebrows*

Jill: Don’t you dare judge me – I love these girls and their impossible 17 year-old figures…

Lill: I will judge Jillian, someone needs to after 70 years –  One’s got OCD over a flakey redhead and the other is a debutante megalomaniac…the only reasonable character is Jughead and he’s been suffering from a chronic eating disorder since 1941, likely from enduring over seven decades with such an unfortunate nickname.

Jill: Pfff…I’ve seen you reading them Lillian – don’t pretend you don’t harbour some sense of nostalgia for the Riverdale gang.

Lill: *Sniff* I read them for Josie and the Pussycats.

Jill: Mmm, Alan M…

About Lill and Jill

We are Lillian and Jillian; best friends and roommates. We blog to capture the seemingly trivial moments of thought and expression that make us smile; the often-times ridiculous way we see the world and how we live in it. We ask that you think well of us despite our propensity for drinking saccharine-laden alcoholic beverages, affection for 90′s boy-bands, and regular inappropriateness.

I LOVE B&V! I had an old comic from the 70’s where they went to a spa too lose weight cause they though the boys liked the super skinny chicks… then at the end when they got all skinny and saw the boys salivating over a curvy chick, they went on a cake and burger binge… classic!!! (but ya… Alan Mmmmmm)

    • The pre-1980’s stories are actually quite fascinating – they’ve managed to capture the various cultural changes and social movements quite well. But we’ll never get tired of seeing Alan M in muscle tees 🙂 …J
